As a non-profit we want to make donating as seamless and quick as possible. Our donors, especially our relatively large donors, have too much to do and are already doing us a huge favor by giving us their support - the least we could do in return is not inconvenience them. We work very hard trying to convince donors that Zeffy is a safe and trusted platform. It is embarrassing and a back hand to our own praise of Zeffy when we have to tell our large donors to send us their money through Paypal instead of Zeffy because Zeffy doesn't allow credit card transactions above $4,999.

As a non profit who fundraises with events, $5000 is one of our go to amounts for events. It makes it difficult when they have to give bank information instead of their card. We had several this year that opted to send a check. We eventually had to lower it to say 4999 on website so that they could use their cards.
