Add custom questions/answers to existing tickets sold

I set up a new ticket type durning the event sale. I had custom questions configured, but forgot to apply them for the new ticket type until later and after some of the tickets were sold. Now I have some tickets that have the custom questions answered and some new tickets that don’t have the custom questions answered. I would like to be able to add the custom questions and answers to tickets that were purchased before I configured those questions. Adding them manually, or being able to send out an "update" request to the ticket holder would be great.
Currently, there's a capability to add a note, but when the sale information is exported, these "notes" added won't be able to be filtered and sorted in the same way that the rest of the data and custom questions/answers are.
