Integrated Ticket Scanning Function

An integrated ticket scanning function within the Zeffy mobile app or the website would be ideal.
We've had an issue in the past where people would scan the QR code on their ticket with their own devices which invalidates their own ticket before they get to the event.
Another issue occurs when having to scan multiple tickets. When a ticket's QR code is scanned, it opens up a page in the mobile browser where we can verify the validity of the ticket. This process can be slow as each ticket must be individually scanned, a browser opened and verified, and the ticket scanning volunteer has to return to their camera app/QR code scanner app and restart the process.
An integrated ticket scanner within the app would address both of these issues. By encoding the QR code to something that is not scannable without the app, we will run into less issues with validation. By having in-app scanning and validation, volunteers no longer have to wait for a browser to load or switch between their camera and browser.

Hi all, thank you for voting! It is now possible to scan e-tickets using the express checkin experience in the Zeffy Tap to Pay app. You can learn more about this option here: https://support.zeffy.com/checking-in-guests-the-day-of-your-event-scan-their-e-ticket-or-check-them-in-manually-using-the-check-in-manager-kpd21#scan-with-the-tap-to-pay-app-lightning-check-in-manager

Agreed, guests should NOT be able to check themselves in by scanning their own ticket and simply clicking on "I'm staff". and getting this question at every single scan slows down the entire process for actual door staff and makes it completely inefficient. The scanner should be fast and not require any steps. Typical target is one scan every 5s-10s, otherwise, paper lists are faster!

I second this, faster ticket scanning is needed for us to be able to utilize the ticketing feature. We were interested for our county fair.

Check-in manager participants scan their ticket before the event

We would appreciate if the check-in manager was modified so that participants cannot scan their tickets themselves before the event when they take a picture of it to facilitate their arrival.

Option: scanned ticket sold in pre-sale quickly in tap to pay

Hello, it is necessary that we can scan the tickets sold during the pre-sale of the event in Tap to pay quickly when hosting the event. For this to work, the buyer should not be able to scan his ticket himself by viewing it, at each event I have people who unintentionally scanned their tickets... that complicates the reception... we will have an event in May 2026 where we will have an event in May 2026 where we are waiting for 2,000 people, you will understand that it must drive well at the entrance. This is why a single app would be appreciated for selling and scanning tickets and if it were possible to make the question of donating to Zeffy easier and faster, that would be too! Thank you so much for your work and have a nice day!

Better Check In system

I just recently hosted an event where I used the QR code scanner to scan tickets. Based on my experience, I feel that we need a better, easier way of checking in guests using the QR code scanner. An app that can access Zeffy data would be GREAT
I learned that
a) you need an internet connection
b) a web browser (and the input cursor is in the address bar)
It would be nice if the app can offer check in in 3 ways
a) QR code scanner
b) entering your email address (lookup function)
c) tap to pay at door (price) (and not require basic info) -- if not found in system
d) a bigger green "banner" and display the name and a red (or orange) banner for not valid tickets.
When I was using my hand held QR code scanner with my iPad, I had to open a new tab in order to be able to scan the link. (or click the address bar). In other words, you must be in an input box for the scanner to be able to input the QR code.

I second. At our event, almost half of the participants had a ticket already scanned. Access control is then impossible to do. If this functionality is not improved, we will not be able to use this platform at our event next year...

I also noticed that when QR code can scanned (and used) even after person is checked in using check-in manager.

It would be really helpful to have this system work with an external QR code reader as well instead of having to use a cell phone.

Our group had our first concert last night and I have some feedback about the ticket taking process. The internet connection in our venue was spotty and scanning the codes to pull up the browser was very time consuming, so we opted to use the check-in manager and search by name. However, a thought I had was to have a built-in QR code reader in the check-in manager that facilitates the search function in the list of guests. Saves from typing and saves from needing a solid internet connection. Win-win. Thanks for considering this feedback.
