Quickbooks Integration
C
Christopher
For organizations which use Quickbooks, the ability to automatically transfer information from sales/donations to accounting software would be highly advantageous.

You state to use something called Zapier to link zeffy into quickbooks. I am an accountant and not a programmer - it would be very helpful if you could do a youtube video showing this process exactly and how it then looks and works in Quickbooks online so I could make that decision to streamline our data entry. Right now it is manual entry and automation is what we need!

This is a deal-breaker for my organization. The Treasurer refuses to continue using Zeffy because he has to reconcile the donations from Zeffy manually. As a volunteer, he just doesn't have time for that. We'll have to stick with PayPal for now :(

Allow export of donations to QBO. Also to be able to have donors choose if their donation is restricted or unrestricted

Rather than use Zapier and pay and extra $17/month!

Sync Donations from Zeffy to QuickBooks Online

Hi Gene! I will merge this request with a similar existing one. Also, did you know that you can push your Zeffy data to Quickbooks as of today using our Zapier integration? Here's how to proceed : https://support.zeffy.com/do-you-integrate-with-quickbooks

Maryse from Zeffy The current zapier integration misses the basic point of Quickbooks integration - which is to reconcile payouts with the detail of what transactions were in a given payout.
Till you add a "Payout" event for zapier - I don't think it fair to refer to this as a QB integration feature.

Ashish Thanks for this additional information! I understand you'd like to reconcile payouts with transactions directly in Quickbooks, that makes sense. In the meantime, have you been using Payouts reports, which include the full list of transactions and refunds included in one deposit? Payments reports are more detailed, also include answers to custom questions and full payments information, as well as the payout date. :)

Our treasurer would be so excited if this was a feature. As it is, she will have to transfer manually.

We automated it using the Zapier tool (see zapier.com). Your trigger will be 'Get donation in Zeffy (1.0.8)'. As actions, you can look if your donator already exist using 'Find Customer in Quickbook Online' and create it using 'Create Sales Receipt in Quickbooks Online'. Your donation will fall in the 'undeposited funds' account and you will simply select the good ones when the transfer arrives.

Jacques Thibault: Thank you for that information! I have moved to FreshBooks from QBO and yet this is very helpful to know.

Jacques Thibault: Unfortunately, Zapier is not an option for us.

Jacques Thibault: this service costs money, which is exactly what your platform is trying to remedy. Please make this a priority. Tons of nonprofits use QuickBooks online for their operations.

Jacques Thibault How do you reconcile a payout from Zeffy to the individual donations in that payout ( in QB) ?
J
Jacques Thibault
Ashish If your donations were created in the 'undeposited funds', the donations will appear when you create a deposit. At this point, you just have to select the pending donations that are part of the Zeffy transfer.
