Waitlist capabilities

It would be fantastic if people could add themselves to a waitlist for a certain ticket and if someone cancels, the system would automatically notify the next person on the waitlist and give them the opportunity register/pay within a certain number of days before moving onto the next person on the waitlist. The automation of working through the waitlist, might be complicated so the ability to at least let folks add themselves to the waitlist and then we could manually work through the waitlist would be nice too so we aren't keeping the waitlist on a separate spreadsheet.

Create a feature that allows people to register for a waiting list once a campaign event is full. If a ticket is cancelled, have an automated feature that notifies/emails the next person on the waiting list and activates their ticket.

be able to create a waiting list and when there are cancellations, that it sends an automatic email to the person first on the waiting list

We really need this - I didn't realise it wouldn't be an option when I signed up

This would be ideal - our training courses fill up quickly and somebody always cancels last minute. We work through a waiting list to fill the spaces.

This would’ve very helpful. We have weekly events that almost always sell out. We get numerous emails asking to be added to the waiting list. Having to manually manage the waiting list takes a lot of time.

Just circling back to this as it has become a talking point in our internal meetings again. PLEASE make this happen!

This would be helpful. I, too, am managing waitlists manually.

Waitlisted ticket feature must be more robust. Allow a waitlisted ticket to be converted to a regular ticket within a stated time period when a regular ticket becomes available.
Asking someone to "Make a donation" is likely not allowed under tax law.
A waitlisted person could receive a message such as, "Congratulations! A spot opened up for you! Please use this code "XYZ123" to purchase your regular ticket within the next xx hours."
Keep the Waitlisted tickets converted to Regular tickets hidden from public view, so that the waitlisted person has a chance to get the regular ticket before it's snatched by someone else.
Allow the event organizer to be able to convert a Waitlist ticket into a regular ticket upon receipt of the proper funds.

+1 to developing a waitlist solution!
Some context specific to our situation…
We have a conference, and as spaces fill up, we have created a waitlist by designating tickets for the waitlist as FREE and a message which states, “We will reach out to you if space becomes available.” (Your recommended workaround)
As we make space for more people, we would like to invite select waitlist people to move from the waitlist to a different ticket type within a stated time period.
How about a feature in which we can say to a waitlisted person a message such as, "Congratulations! A spot opened up for you! Please use this special link to purchase your regular ticket within the next xx hours." There might be situations where queuing of invitations would work; we are often dealing with complexity or not a simple queue.
This action should not open up more tickets to the public, so that the waitlisted person has a chance to get the ticket before it's snatched by someone else.
Then convert the waitlist ticket into a regular ticket upon receipt of the proper funds.
Being better able to handle a waitlist would be a big help to us.
